Looking back at these photos (that have been taken through the last 3 weeks) are making me excited for dinner already! I think Lee is making pizza tonight! I can't believe how far we have come since we stopped eating refined sugars and processed foods. We have learned so much about cooking, what is in the food we eat, and where our food comes from. We still have lots to learn, but eating and cooking whole food has definitely empowered us to know we are doing something right. We both feel healthier and happier. We love having a connection like a CSA with a local farm and look forward to getting our food share every week. We plan our weekly meals around the food we get in our share, which brings a new excitement and variety to meal time. See the pics below to see just some of the meals we remember to take a photo of!
Truth: Life IS busy and unpredictable. And, yes, time is valuable. But what you eat can make or break it. So make it last. Make it count.
Cook. REALLY cook. Don't just tear open a package or crack open a jar. But cook - you know - mixing spices, simmering sauces, sautéing .. Yep, the real deal. It's really not that hard once you open your mind to it.
Read our story and try out some of our recipes. We really cooked these things (and ate them, too!). On weeknights. We even had time to do the dishes.
And yes, there is no refined sugar, soy, or dairy in any of these recipes. And often, they are vegan, gluten-free, or nut-free friendly.
