Real food. real life.
Lots of veggies!!
I have to say, just in case anyone has been wondering, this has almost completely replaced the need to buy any fruit/veggie from the supermarket. The only items we occasionally buy that aren't in our CSA:
-Garlic, when it's not in season
-Peppers, when they're not in season
-Nuts & Seeds
-Apple Sauce, because I can't live without it, lol
Everything else we use up from our CSA. Our meals revolve around what we get. We definitely have regular occurring meals, like stir fry, pork chops, pasta, soup - but those are always adapted to what current veggies we have on hand.
Also, we pack our lunches every day and always have enough to eat. Snacks are now replaced by fruit, veggies, nuts, seeds. Lunch is usually leftovers from dinner, stored soups from a big batch made on the weekend, a sandwich, or a salad.
Our grocery bill is much smaller and has allowed us to shop around for the non-CSA items so we're getting the best deal for the best product. ie: Costco for bulk organic items, Superstore for the organic selection of condiments, local market for farm fresh eggs, meat, and cheese, etc.
It's really not hard! We're doing it and working 2 full time jobs with busy evenings. Planning ahead provides us with wholesome meals every day of the week, every meal of the day.
You can do this, too, if you aren't already. Start simple - start with a CSA!

Truth: Life IS busy and unpredictable. And, yes, time is valuable. But what you eat can make or break it. So make it last. Make it count.
Cook. REALLY cook. Don't just tear open a package or crack open a jar. But cook - you know - mixing spices, simmering sauces, sautéing .. Yep, the real deal. It's really not that hard once you open your mind to it.
Read our story and try out some of our recipes. We really cooked these things (and ate them, too!). On weeknights. We even had time to do the dishes.
And yes, there is no refined sugar, soy, or dairy in any of these recipes. And often, they are vegan, gluten-free, or nut-free friendly.
A bit about me...
